RIGS was designed to suit the metal fascia systems fitted across New Zealand over the past 45 years, plus timber fascia and tired external spouting. If your roof edge is one of these, it can be converted.
A lot of the fascia and gutter systems fitted to New Zealand houses since the early 1980s are no longer manufactured. When one starts to fail, there is nothing to repair it with, so the options have been to improvise with standard spouting components or to rebuild the roof edge properly and pay for it.
RIGS sits in between. It is a purpose-made COLORSTEEL system in three sizes, drawn to fit over or replace what is already up there, and it covers the systems below. The photographs are supplied by RIGS: each pairs an example of the original system with an example of the finished result.

System 01
The system RIGS was built for. The concealed gutter is taken out of the equation and the water path moves outside the building line, so an overflow spills onto the ground instead of into the soffit, wall cavity and ceiling.
Common on 1990s and 2000s homes with parapets, box ends and shallow roof pitches.
System 02
Tired, split or repeatedly repainted timber fascia is capped in Colorsteel rather than replaced. You get a straight, maintenance-free line without stripping the roof edge back to framing.
Suits villas, bungalows and any home where the fascia is sound but past painting again.
System 03
Stepped fascia profiles date a house and trap dirt on every ledge. The RIGS cover gives a single clean face and takes the existing spouting off the step detail that collected water in the first place.
Widely used on homes built through the 1980s and 1990s.
System 04
One of the metal fascia systems installed widely across New Zealand over the past four decades. Where the brackets and gutter have corroded, RIGS replaces the whole assembly rather than patching parts that are no longer made.
Look for rust bleeding at bracket points and sagging between fixings.
System 05
Another legacy metal fascia system RIGS was designed to fit over. The conversion keeps your eave line and overhang intact, so there are no extension flashings bodged on to make the numbers work.
Typically found on homes from the 1980s onward.
System 06
Bildon fascia and gutter assemblies are long out of production, which makes like-for-like repair impractical. RIGS gives a current, warranted Colorsteel replacement that matches the original roofline.
Replacement parts are effectively unobtainable, so repairs rarely last.
System 07
Even a straightforward external system reaches the end of its life. RIGS replaces the fascia and spouting together in one pass, which is faster and neater than pulling old spouting off a fascia that also needs work.
Worth doing together when the fascia behind the spouting is rusting or rotting.

You do not need to know whether you have a Klass, a Bildon or a stepped fascia. Stand back from the house, take one picture of the roof edge including a corner if you can, and send it through. We will tell you what system it is, whether it can be converted, and roughly what is involved, before anyone comes out.

Yes. RIGS started as an internal gutter answer and grew well past it. If your metal fascia system is corroding, sagging at the brackets or simply out of production so no parts are available, RIGS replaces the whole fascia and spouting assembly in one pass rather than patching around obsolete components.
That is one of the main uses. Where the timber is sound but past painting again, a Colorsteel cover gives you a straight, maintenance-free line without stripping the roof edge back to framing. Where the timber has actually rotted, it has to come out first, and we will tell you which situation you are in.
Usually it makes sense to, because the crew, the safety gear and the setup are the same whether we do one elevation or four, and doing it in stages means paying for that twice. If budget means staging the work, we will quote it that way and start with the elevation that is causing the trouble.
